Horning is a very popular village and moorings can be difficult to find during most of the season. The New Inn has the only day boat basin, which can accommodate up to 10 day boats, plus river frontage for larger overnight cruisers and sailing boats (moorings are free for patrons only). We are also able to provide electricity (for a small charge) subject to availability.
For the perfect day trip you could hire a day boat from Potter Heigham or Wroxham and enjoy a leisurely cruise to Horning, which is approximately 1 hour by river… we also have a dedicated mooring attendant to help you moor when you arrive.
To ensure that you secure a mooring and table for dining, please contact us on 01692 631223 as early as possible and we will make the necessary reservations. This will enable you to enjoy a relaxed day on the river knowing that you have a space to moor and a place to eat.
Alongside our moorings is South Gates boatyard who can provide additional services such as diesel, water and pump outs.
Overnight moorings can arrive between the hours of 3pm-6pm and are kindly asked to vacate by 11am the following day to make room for day boats. Day boats can moor and stay between the hours of 11am-3pm and are kindly asked to vacate by 3pm to make room for our overnight moorings.
Polite notice: Our moorings are free and available for patrons only. If you are mooring overnight with us you will be required to book a table and eat with us. Please note: No BBQs, No Take-Aways or No Picnics are allowed on our premises (including on your moored boat). We are a family pub and reserve the right not to serve large all male, or large all female groups.
